Start

One daily step at a time.

    Insight, skill, and
    mastery woven
    into every step

Day to day — one step at a time — FAST Screenplay takes you through the entire process, from idea to story to script to rewrite to polish to feedback to the sale.

Imagine videotaping a pro golfer and playing it back in super slow-mo to perfect every tiny nuance of their swing.

With FAST, it's like videotaping a pro screenwriter's brain at work, and then mastering its natural organic creative process. Two things happen using this approach: 1) you can zoom in to every detail and spend as much time as you need, and 2) once you see how it works, you can then "play it back" at "normal speed" for lightning-fast results.

    Learn
    automatically
    as you write

Each day (or at your own pace), you'll get a new step. When you finish today's step, tomorrow's step is unlocked. As you do each step, you move through the entire process of writing (and marketing) your screenplay.

    The steps have two objectives:

    1. Take you trough a process of creating screenplays
a producer can actually use, and
    2. Cover every action, skill and habit a pro screenwriter
needs to master, so you're prepared for the
      professional industry.

We achieve this by breaking the whole process down into over 200 daily steps — literally, every step from idea to the sale.

Then we carefully weave everything you need to know, every action you need to take, and every skill you need to master throughout those steps. As you complete the steps (one at a time), you acquire the skills and knowledge automatically, all while you're writing your production-ready screenplay.

By designing the steps this way, the system is endelssly repeatable and adaptable. Every time you go through FAST, you build on your prior knowledge and experience — taking you to the next level of your career with each project.

The 4 components of every step

Every step has been designed to deliver an epiphany. It works by incorporating 4 components into every step:

    #1: The step’s TITLE

The TITLE is always a physical action — the title is the step. Simply do each step and you complete the process. Once you complete a step, its TITLE gives you a "shortcut" to applying that skill.

    #2: The step’s ARTICLE

The ARTICLE explains the step. Each article is written from the producer's perspective, and has been carefully reviewed by an award-winning screenwriter and PhD educator to ensure best educational practices. The article gives you knowledge and insight, often including tips and techniques for mastery of the step's subject. Simply read and understand the ARTICLE.

    #3: The step’s EXERCISE

Then each step includes a physical EXERCISE to be completed. During the writing phases, the exercises take you through the process of writing your screenplay. During the industry phases (Setup and Payoff), the exercises develop skills required for a pro career. The exercises have been designed by our PhD educator to give you the experience of the concepts in the article. They use multiple learning modalities, incorporating the left- and right-brain. As the EXERCISES become second nature, the process becomes intuitive and automatic.

    #4: The step’s EXPERIENCE

Objectivity is the writer's greatest challenge. By recording your EXPERIENCE of each step (the epiphanies, the struggles, and the moments of indifference) you give yourself a set of analytics that will empower you to see yourself objectively, so you can then take your work to the next level. You'll also discover the tools to spot those areas you need improvement, and a shortcut to advanced skills. We learn by EXPERIENCE, and yours is a curcial part of the process.

As you complete each step, you move through the system quickly and effectively.

    Direct and indirect skill development

Each step is designed to address and/or build upon a specific skill or set of skills. For example, a step may be predominantly focused on building your central character. So a) it has the character-building lessons, b) where that step is placed in the system is part of the organic story development process, and c) the step will also build upon skills (character and non-character related) you've developed earlier — and later steps will then take those same skills even further.

In this way, there are multiple layers of skill development meticulously crafted into each step and woven throughout the system. On the surface, it appears that you're simply developing one step's skill. But the larger design of FAST Screenplay weaves multiple layers and threads throughout every phase, ultimately connecting each step to every other step in a grand organic design.

Thanks to this unique design, "learning" happens automatically, each time you use the system. As you complete the system (and your screenplay), you have a new layer of experience. When you go through the system again, these layers build upon that prior experience, delivering new and powerful skills that grow as you do.

    Always a
    clear path to
    completion

FAST Screenplay is designed to deliver everything you need, and each step has been meticulously crafted.

We've seen most other systems, and most online courses offer less value in a whole class than any one of our steps, due to our layered approach to each step. Nothing else weaves a process of mastery in an intuitive and organic way like this.

Simply do the steps (don't just read them), and build your screenplay. The learning happens automatically. The skills develop without conscious attention.

    • Move at your own pace
    • It's safe and secure — no one can steal your work
    • Participate publicly or stay anonymous
    • Learn from the insights of other writers
    • A system based on modern neuroscience

As you complete each step, the system is revealed. By focusing on one step at a time, you're never overwhelmed. Whenever you're ready, move on to the next step, and make your way through the sytem.
